Online proctoring with Zoom and CBTF proctors
CBTF Online is a Zoom-based human proctoring service for exams using PrairieLearn, Gradescope, and/or other learning management systems, provided by the Computer-Based Testing Facility (CBTF) proctors in the Grainger College of Engineering, in cooperation with the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences (LAS). CBTF Online will handle the logistics of exam scheduling.
Here’s an overview of how it works:
- Students make a reservation in the CBTF scheduler.
- Students visit the scheduler near their reservation time to check-in and receive further instructions, including the link to the Zoom meeting for their proctoring.
- Students then join the Zoom meeting from their phones and position them to view them taking their exam. The proctor is present to help get them set up, answer questions, validate their identity, etc.
- Once checked in, the students are given instructions via the scheduler on how to take the exam.
If you have accommodations identified by the Disability Resources and Educational Services (DRES) for exams, please email your Letter of Accommodations (LOA) to the CBTF Manager, Carleen Sacris, at firstname.lastname@example.org, before you make your first exam reservation.
